the policy fellowship

The Policy Fellowship programme is at the core of the Pinsker Centre’s work. Every academic year, the Pinsker Centre takes a cohort of 12-16 outstanding students from across UK universities to become Policy Fellows. The Fellowship supports students in developing their own ideas on the most pressing foreign policy issues of our time and offers unbeatable first-hand insight into the worlds of politics, policy-making and journalism.

Applications for the 2024-2025 Fellowship are now closed.

Applications for the 2025-26 Fellowship will open Spring 2025.

A highlight of the Fellowship Programme is our annual policy trip to Washington D.C. This is the 2022-23 Fellowship at the Lincoln memorial

Programme Outline

With the support and guidance of the staff at The Pinsker Centre, participants of the programme will be given a number of opportunities and responsibilities, these include:

1) Producing thought-provoking articles and podcasts - With the professional support of the Pinsker Centre, Fellows produce a number of Op-Ed style articles and collaborative podcasts on a wide range of issues. These podcasts and articles have a wide reach and are an excellent opportunity for students to develop their ideas.

2) Hosting events on campus - The Pinsker Centre works with our Policy Fellows to bring our world-class speakers to campus. The Fellowship gives you access to the Pinsker Centre’s vast speakers network to bring lively debate and dialogue to your campus.

3) Policy trip to Washington D.C. - Our annual D.C. Policy trip offers all Fellows an incredible insight into the political world of the US and provides invaluable firsthand policymaking experience. During our trip, we visit think tanks, members of Congress and other political heavyweights, offering an unrivalled opportunity for students.

4) Seminar days - The Pinsker Centre provides private seminar days for our Fellows. These exclusive “Fellowship days” offer a chance to receive career advice from and discuss ideas with major players in international politics and current affairs.
